As followers of Christ, we are called to serve others and be a light in the world. At A Moment in the Word, we are deeply committed to outreach and service, actively engaging in projects that reflect God’s love and compassion to those in need.
MEET OUR TEAM
Pastor Filbert Candelaria
Pastor Filbert Candelaria and his wife, Gina Candelaria have been serving together in ministry for 26 years. They have one son and one daughter. Pastor Filbert was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico and now resides in League City, Texas. The two of them accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior seven months into their marriage, in 1998.
Pastor Filbert quotes “Most of my life I have felt like an outcast, including early on, in my Christian walk. Jesus Christ set me free from such a defenseless state. Through the power of the Holy
Spirit, I can love God, God’s people, and His Word. If Jesus did it for me, He can do it for you!”
Pastor Filbert and his wife Gina are passionate about community outreach. Their take: “We must reach out to the world. Many souls need Jesus Christ!”
President Ashley Weir
Ashley Weir and his wife Jenny Jo (J.J.) have been happily married since 2010 and have served the Lord together since then. They are blessed with two wonderful sons and reside in a small city south of Houston, TX.
Through the years, they have been blessed to serve in many ministries. Together, their life has been enhanced by fellowship with other believers through outreaches, small groups, bible studies, and serving in the local church.
Ashley loves hosting bible study, working in the media department, and serving others through outreaches. His wife, J.J. is honored to serve the Lord through worship ministry, loves evangelizing, and is always ready to serve wherever needed. They love serving ministries that assist the homeless, prisoners, addicts, and orphans.
Public Relations Administrator
Diane was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and has been serving the Lord since 1989. She started serving in ministry in 2023 and is passionate about sharing the word of God in the streets of New Mexico through street ministry. She is a Transportation Officer and is blessed to be able to administer the word of God to others in her work environment.
Treasurer
Liza is a native of New Mexico. She is passionate about serving God's children and working with those less fortunate. She loves spending time studying God's word and getting closer to the Lord. Her priority in this season of her life is to follow the Lords purpose for her life. Liza has been a Registered Nurse for 24 years and a Certified Nurse Practitioner for the last 12 years serving patients with kidney disease.
